What kind of services are provided?

This is a great marina that has campsites on location. It is a favorite among boaters that like to bring their own boat but prefer to camp on land. Restrooms are provided, as well as showers, but no laundry facilities are provided at this time. The marina does have certified mechanics on site if you have trouble with your boat. A general store is located at the marina for stocking up on snacks and there is also a restaurant right there as well. The restaurant is open after Memorial Day and serves some of the best food you’ll find on the lake. Please note that the restaurant does close at four, so you’ll be limited to breakfast and lunch. At the store you’ll also find a gift shop that is great for stocking up on souvenirs or to find special gifts for the folks back home.

What you need to know:

If you’re looking for a marina that is friendly for the whole family, this is a great place to stop. There are plenty of activities in the surrounding area and Lake Shasta is always a great place to spend your vacation. The staff here at the marina are incredibly friendly and you’ll find just about everything you could ever need right here.

If you prefer not to bring your own boat to the lake, they do rent houseboats as well as fishing boats, jetskis and other watercraft. The rates are all very reasonable and all the equipment you’ll need is usually included.

What kind of guest services are provided?

Guests can access the dock, but no slips or moorings are available. Please note that electricity is not available for guest use.

Holiday Harbor is located 18 miles north of Redding at the O’Brien / Shasta Caverns Rd. Exit #695. Turn East on Shasta Caverns Rd. follow the double yellow line downhill exactly 1 mile. We are located on the McCloud arm of Lake Shasta next to Shasta Caverns.

We enjoy the friendly staff and the great location, two elements that really make for the perfect marina experience. This is part of a larger chain of marinas and the attention to detail is appreciated by anyone who visits. Truly a great place to stop by for a weekend, or even longer, especially during the busy season.

What you need to know:

This is a very nice marina that offers quite a lot of services and features both for permanent residents and guests. The town of Martinez is very quaint and cute and this is a great place to stop by if you’re in the area. The marina is within easy walking distance of some great restaurants and shops and overall, this is a trip the whole family can enjoy. We are big fans of this marina and its parent company owns several quality establishments up and down the coast. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they really do go the extra mile, even if you’re only a guest.

What You Need to Know:

Please note that in order to access the marina you’ll need to travel through a small channel. We highly recommend calling ahead to check the water depth in the channel before you arrive. While it is usually deep enough for most boats, it’s still a good idea to check just in case. The main downside is that fuel is not offered at this location, but if you are looking for a place to camp while you’re staying at Lake Tahoe, then that is a small price to pay given that the camping facilities are so nice. There are plenty of fuel docks in the area so you really won’t be out much. They do offer several camping options and the whole family should be able to enjoy the facilities that are available. The prices are reasonable, but please keep in mind that there are some restrictions, which we will detail below.

Fees:

Please contact the marina for more information on their fees for dock rental and other services. If you do plan to keep your boat here, it is best to call ahead and see what the current availability is. Like most marinas in this area they do have a wait list. However, guest docks are usually available. If you’re planning on visiting during the peak periods on the lake, it is best to reserve your space to ensure availability.

The marina provided the following information for those who wish to camp on-site:

  • Must be made with a valid credit card
  • 50% of the total will be charged to your card at the time the reservation is made. Lodging tax is applied to all units (you will be sent an invoice, copy of your reservation, and copies of the charges to your card).
  • The balance is due 2 weeks after the reservation is made (you will recieve confirmation that the Lodging is paid in full after the second payment is recieved). For Kehlet reservations, the balance is due 2 MONTHS after the reservation is made
  • If reservation is made less than 2 weeks prior to arrival, the full amount will be charged when the reservation is made. (Kehlet: if less than 2 months)
  • A 2-night minimum stay is required for reservations for the months of May, June, September and October
  • A 3-night minimum stay is required for reservations for the months of July and August.
  • A 4-night minimum stay is required for the Kehlet for all months

What you need to know:

The campsites here are absolutely terrific and this is a great place to spend a weekend. You’ll have plenty of things to do, and the whole family will enjoy the recreation area around the lake. Overall, this was one of the nicest lake marinas we’ve ever seen and we really enjoyed our time here. The service was fast and friendly and everything was very well maintained. We thought the prices were reasonable and found that the docks were in great shape. The launch ramp is one of our all time favorites and overall, we really ended up liking the marina and enjoying the time we spent on the lake.

Lake Piru is a great spot for fishing and has much to offer anyone taking a trip in this area.

What You Need to Know:

Balboa Marina is considered to be one of the nicest facilities in Newport Beach. The amenities and services here are top notch and have much to offer the boater. However, due to its popularity, there is a long waiting list at this time. However, there are a couple of berths that do come available from time to time and the marina does offer guest facilities at times. It is best to call ahead for more information to make sure that they will have an opening for you.

About the Marina:

This marina is located right across from an exclusive community and is very high class. The fees are reasonable given its location and you do get what you pay for. If you are planning a trip to the Newport Harbor Museum, this is the perfect place to stop since it is literally just a few steps away. Overall, it is hard to find a marina this nice and with this many features. Visitors are never disappointed in the service and friendly nature of the staff. We highly recommend this marina if you will be in the area.

What you need to know:

The marina just underwent a massive restoration project. The facilities here are truly top notch and the staff is very helpful. They now have services for houseboats and the option of selection covered or open storage berths. Guests always feel welcome here and their rates are quite low when compared with other marinas in the area.

The boat ramp is well worth the trip. If you are not docking there is a $16 fee for the day’s use of the ramp. It is enormous and quite capable of handling truly large vessels.

Average Water Depth: The average depth here is around 9 feet. While it is not often that it changes, we still recommend checking ahead before you arrive.

Marine Standby Channel: Yes, the marina monitors Channel 69 and they are also reachable by phone if you cannot get them by radio.

Is there a pumpout station?

Not at this location, but there are a few located nearby if you do require this service. The harbormaster will be able to provide recommendations.

Is there a fuel dock?

Not on site, but again, you can find others in the near vicinity. Please ask the harbormaster for directions.

Services provided:

This is a full service marina in the truest sense of the word. You’ll find restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, phone service and internet, and electric security gates. While there is no official pumpout station, if you’re willing to do it yourself, there are hydrants available for individual use. The onsite Pizza Nova restaurant is quite popular and well worth the trip.

Are any guest facilities provided?

Yes, guests can access both the docks and slips and electrical services are provided. There are fees for guest access and at times, this marina can be quite crowded. We recommend checking for spaces before you arrive.

What You Need to Know:

This is a great marina that offers a lot of different features and the staff here is incredibly helpful. For frequent travelers, we recommend their mailbox service which is very handy. In addition, this marina is one that really goes the extra mile, both for guests and liveaboards. We highly recommend this marina.

Is there a boat launch? Yes, the marina has a boat launch. It’s located a little ways away from the marina office but it is still quite convenient.

Marina management provided the following information:

Rates are based on the greater length: your boat or the slip.

51 to 62 feet $20.00

End ties $1 (additional per foot)

Single ties $2 (additional per foot)

A security deposit equal to a minimum of one month’s rent is required of all tenants.

Deposits may not be used toward last month’s rent.

Assuming no damages or outstanding balances, deposits will be mailed to you within two weeks of your departure date.

Live-aboard charges are based on any stay beyond three nights a week up to ten days a month. Additional cost is per month, per person.

First Person - $225.00

Second Person - $175.00

A limited amount of live-aboards are allowed due to Port standards (ten percent of slip capacity).

All liveaboards must be eighteen years of age or older. The maximum on any one vessel is two live-aboards.
