Green Valley Lake is located in: San Bernadino County

Phone: N/A
Is boating allowed?
Paddle boats, kayaks and canoes are allowed, but no motorized boats are permitted on the lake. Since this is more of a residential area and the lake is very quiet, the community prefers to restrict boating to non motorized only. The upside is that it is a lot easier to catch fish here.
Is there a boat launch?
No, due to the fact that only non-motorized boats are allowed on the lake. You can however launch from most places on the shore.
Is camping allowed?
Yes, there are numerous campsites around the lake, and they are all very well maintained. This is a very family-oriented area and you'll find plenty of places to camp to enjoy the weekend. The facilities are pretty bare minimum, but overall, it's a nice place to camp. You'll find five different spots around the lake, including:
Green Valley Lake Campground
Crab Flat Campground
Tent Peg Group Site Campground
North Shore - Lake Arrowhead
Dogwood Campground
Is fishing allowed?
Yes, fishing is allowed here and you can actually do very well. The lake is well stocked and because it is so quiet, it is much easier to catch fish. You'll easily be able to get your limit in a few hours.
What kind of fish can you expect to catch here?
The usual round up of crappie, bluegill, a few catfish and if you're lucky some great bass and trout.
Are there any regulations?
Beyond the non-motorized boat rule, normal fishing restrictions apply. You must have a valid California fishing license with you before fishing on the lake. Boats however can be operated without worrying about licenses and registration. If you don't have your own boat, you can rent one at the lake.
About the Lake:
This is a very family oriented lake, located right in the heart of a small community of about 800 people. It is right next to Big Bear lake, but you won't find any of the noise or rowdiness here. If you like to party while you boat, this is not the place to do it, but if you want to teach the kids about fishing, have some fun camping over the weekend, or enjoy a quiet afternoon, this is the ideal spot. We found everything to be very well maintained, the water was clean and the fishing was above par.
It may not be the most well known lake in the area, or the most trafficked, but this is definitely one of our favorites in the Southern California area. One of the area's best kept secrets, and let's hope that it stays that way.
What else can I do here?
In addition to camping, fishing and boating, this lake is located right next to a wilderness area, so there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. Whether you enjoy hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing, you'll be able to do them all right here.

Little Grass Valley Reservoir is located near Oroville, CA
About:
This is a truly unique reservoir that we believe everyone should visit at least once in their lifetimes. The best time to go is in the spring, when the wildflowers are in full bloom. There are few sights on earth that can equal this wilderness area in the spring. The lake is more than 1600 acres and the shoreline stretched out over sixteen miles. If you are looking to take a fishing trip in April or May, this one should be first on your list.
The levels in the reservoir are generally good, but during a dry season it can be a little low. We recommend calling ahead to check before you arrive. The weather here is normally good, but it can change at the drop of a hat. Bring your rain clothing with you and remember to pack a sweatshirt or sweater, since some variation in temperatures can occur with little warning.
Is Camping Allowed:
Yes, camping is allowed and there are quite a few sites that are available. They are very well maintained and we did not find that there was overcrowding, even during the most popular visitor time.
Available Campsites:
Running Deer
Red Feather
Little Beaver
Wyandotte
Peninsula Tent
Black Rock
Total Units: 290
Please note the following information:
All sites provide tables but most areas are for day use only. Campgrounds are open from June 1 to October 1, and there are fees. While trailers are allowed, please note that there are no water hookups. Fresh water is usually not available, so it is best to bring your own, or bring a purifier with you.
Is Boating Allowed?
Yes, boating is allowed on the lake, but there are a minimum of services available. There is a boat launch, but you're pretty much on your own. Most supplies can be purchased in La Porte, but it is best to bring everything you need with you.
What Kind of Fish Can I Catch Here?
This is one of the best places we've found for trout. You'll find a huge variety here, including rainbow and brown. Catfish can also be found in the lake, as well as a few bluegill and even the occasional crappie. The lake is stocked so you won't have to worry about not finding enough trout during your stay.
Do I Need to Know About Any Regulations?
Yes, there is a daily limit to the amount of fish you can take, and you will need to have a current fishing license. If you will be boating, it must be properly registered and you must have a boating license. Some campsites have additional rules. Please check with lake management before arriving. The red wildflowers that are visible during spring are not free for the taking according to the ranger district. This is apparently quite a problem.

About the Lake:
Benbow Lake is a beautiful manmade lake that was created as a result of a nearby dam. It is located off of the Eel River and was made in 1928. The lake was named for a prominent local family, and they have been very active in making sure that the lake was preserved. In the mid-1950's, they lobbied to put the lake under state control. In 1958, the special Benbow project was approved and the lake is now managed by the state.

What Kind of Fish Can Be Found Here?
The winter months are actually the best time to catch fish on this lake. While some campers have luck during the summer, you will be most likely to catch fish during the winter. The fish include salmon and steelhead.
Are there any Fishing Regulations? The usual state limits apply in regards to the amount of fish that you are allowed per day.
Special Notes: The state has actually set up a feature where you can book your campsite online. There is a registration fee, but it is well worth it to be able to lock in a specific date. This is a very popular lake and the nearby resort also does a lot of business during the summer months. We found the campsites to be incredibly well maintained, so if you are interested in roughing it, you'll still be guaranteed a nice place to sleep.
The fishing here was particularly good and we were surprised by the size and quality of the fish. Definitely one of the nicest lakes we've ever visited and we are making plans to return in the future.

Are pets allowed?
Yes, this is a very family and pet friendly marina. Please keep all pets on a leash however while you are visiting.
Is there a marine stand by channel?
At this time you cannot reach the marina by radio. You can however call ahead to the harbor master.
What kind of fish will I find here?
Sturgeon are by far the most popular, but many boaters come to this area for the catfish. If you can't catch a catfish here, there must be something wrong with your bait. Please keep in mind that normal state regulations are in place for fishing here. All boats must be operated under state and federal laws and you must have a fishing license before you can fish here.
What else do I need to know?
Although there is no fuel dock, there are restrooms at this location. No showers are provided however. If you need a pump out station, you will have to find another marina in the area, and there are several. This is more of a day-use marina for if you want to picnic or if you just plan to stay for a quick night. It's a friendly place though and the staff is quite helpful.
