Chartering a Boat Overnight in the San Francisco Bay

boatingbayIf you are looking for something fun and enjoyable that your entire family can participate in on the San Francisco bay, consider overnight chartering. There are a lot of different harbors and marinas that will allow you to take a boat out so that you can spend the night on the water, taking in all of the sights and sounds that the San Francisco bay has to offer at night. Sailors often do this because they enjoy camping out at night, and overnight cruising offers them an economical option for sleeping outside without having to sleep on the ground. There are also many larger boats that make the entire proposition much more comfortable.

The weekend cost for most of these boat charters is approximately 10 percent cheaper for most boat providers, and the night time rate is also generally excellent, especially when you are talking about Friday and Saturday nights. The weekender cost gives you a discount for if you are taking the boat out for two consecutive days, so consider spending the weekend on the water with your family, fishing, boating, taking in the sights and sounds and simply enjoying yourselves to the fullest.

There are plenty of different places for you to go including public marinas, private yacht clubs, anchorages and parks. The best anchorage that you are going to find in the bay is known as Clipper Cove or Treasure Island Cove depending on who you ask. This is one of the coolest places for people to anchor during the months where it gets really hot. Inside the actual cove, there is plenty of room, especially along the Treasure Island Marina. The water here tends to be relatively flat as well as very well protected, making it a good place for you to go with a decent sized boat and your entire family.

There are actually dozens of different public marinas that are located all around the San Francisco Bay. Some of them are privately owned, and others are municipal in nature, but nearly all of them are willing to accept boats on an overnight stay basis. Some of the harbors belong specifically to private yacht clubs, meaning these are only open for members of the yacht club, but rest assured there are plenty of other options for you to choose from. There are a number of popular boating destinations for you to check out while you are here, including South Beach Harbor, Schoonmaker Point Marina, Bellena Isle Marina and so many others. There are often fun places to do things and places to eat, so you can dock your boat and spend some time on land during your family boat chartering.

If your family is looking for something new and exciting to pursue in the San Francisco Bay area, then you seriously need to consider chartering a boat at night and spending the night on the bay.
