Contra Loma Park at Contra Loma Reservoir is located in Antioch, CA
Park Phone Number: 1-888-EBPark
Park Hours: 5am to 10pm - please note that this is subject to change, please check ahead before making the trip.
Parking Fee: $5 per vehicle, $4 extra for vehicles with trailers. Buses are $25
Dogs Allowed? Yes, but there is a $2 fee per dog.
Boat Launch Fee: $4 per day for trailered boats, $2 for car top or inflatable boats, $1 per day for windsurf boards.
Types of boats allowed: The launch can accept boats up to 17 feet in length. Because this lake doubles as a back up water supply for the Contra Costa Water district, only boats with electric engines are permissible on the lake. No gas engines will be allowed.
Restrictions: The park does not allow alcohol. If you are using a float tube, you must wear a life preserver. Those who plan on windsurfing must shower no more than 2 minutes before entering the water and wear a wetsuit. Those using inflatable tubes must also wear a wetsuit and limit the contact of water with their bodies as much as possible. If you have a sea kayak that is self bailing, you must shower before entering the water and wear a short wet suit at the very least. Dry type kayaks do not have these restrictions, but the park asks that you not perform any rollovers or any activities that will cause your body to come into contact with the water. These restrictions are in place due to the fact that the water may sometimes be used for human consumption if a backup water supply is needed in the water district.
About the Lake: The entire park covers 780 acres, including the 80 acre reservoir that is used for fishing and boating. There is a separate swim lagoon with a lifeguard on staff. The swim lagoon features a nice sandy beach and there is a concession stand. Please note that swimming is only allowed in the summer and there is a beach access fee of $3 for adults up to 61 in age, and $2 for children and seniors. Lifeguards are available daily between May 24th and September 1st. The reservoir is stocked with catfish as well as black and striped bass. You'll also find bluegill, trout and red eared sunfish in the waters.
Accessibility: The park is wheelchair accessible and includes fountains, parking and restrooms that are suited for handicapped individuals. The swimming lagoon also features picnic areas that are wheelchair accessible.
How to get to the park: To reach Contra Loma from Highway 4 in Antioch, exit on Lone Tree Way, go right on Golf Course Road and right on Frederickson Lane to the park.
