Crowley Lake, Bishop, CA

Crowley Lake is located near: Bishop, CA

Phone: 760-935-4301

Is Boating Allowed?

Absolutely, and there is a marina on site to help you get stocked up with everything you need. We found the bait shop and marina facility to be the best in the area and the prices are very reasonable.

Is There a Boat Launch?

Yes, there is a boat launch on site. Please note that there is a day use fee, which we've detailed below.

Is Camping Allowed?

Yes, but there are a few restrictions:

Lake management states, "After Opening Weekend, camping is permitted only at South Landing in designated site. Reservations may be made in advance, call 760-935-4301. Fee: $15 Nightly R.V. Hook-ups: $40 Nightly"

What You Need to Know:

This is a terrific lake and we found the water to be clear, the fish hungry and the atmosphere perfect. This is a very family friendly lake and the marina staff is very friendly. We liked the fact that you can cheaply store your boat here all year round and it's easy to see why this lake is so popular. The lake actively tries to prevent the spread of mussels, so there is a bit of a hassle with that, but we found it to be well worth the effort. If you don't want to go through all of that, we recommend renting a boat at the lake.

What Kind of Fish Will I Find Here?

There are plenty of fish here and it's so easy to get your limit you won't believe how quickly the time flies. Currently, the lake has an abundance of trout, as well as perch.

What Regulations Do I Need to Know About?

Yes, there are a couple, as provided by lake management:

Fishing Restrictions: August 1 through Oct. 31, 2008. No Bait, barbless lures or flies only. Limit trout: 2 (18" or longer) Perch: No limit

TROUT LIMIT - Trout limit is five fish. No more than 2 bag limits of trout may be possessed.

In addition, please note that swimming is not allowed at this lake. If you will be boating, you must operate your boat in accordance with all California boating laws and you must have a current and valid registration and license.

As mentioned above, the lake actively prevents the spread of mussels. You will need to sign a questionnaire, empty your bilge tanks and thoroughly have your boat decontaminated before entering the water.
