Parking Fee: $5 for each vehicle, if it is kiosk attended. $4 for trailered vehicles.

Dogs Allowed? Yes, dogs are permitted, but there is a $2 fee per dog.

Boat Launch? There is no boat launch, but kayakers and those with inflatable boats are welcome on the lake.

Types of Boats Allowed: Kayaks, inflatable car top boats, windsurf boards and kiteboards.

Restrictions: Please note that although dogs are allowed, they will not be permitted on the beach. Please keep all animals on grassy areas and on paved paths. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, and the leash must be six feet in length. Dog owners are asked to pick up after their animals as well.

Boating: Although large boats are not allowed, the facility is well suited for those who enjoy kayaking, or inflatable boating. The waters are well suited to these crafts and the overall atmosphere is very relaxing.

Fishing: Fishing is allowed from the shore, but you must have a license to be allowed to fish at the park.

History of the Park: Crown Memorial is actual quite historical and dates back to the 1880's when it was known as Alameda Beach. It has been called the Coney Island of the West, due to its warm beaches, fabulous water and the bathing spas. Frequent events are held throughout the year at the park and the yearly carnival is very entertaining.

Special Features: This is a great place to take the kids, due to the numerous activities they will find here. The Elsie Roemer Bird Sanctuary can be found at the east end of the park and features numerous aquatic birds and other sea creatures. The historic Crab Cove can also be found at the north end of the park and is home to many exhibits and sea creatures. Don't miss the annual Sand Castle and Sand Sculpture Contest which is held in June. Dates may change, please call ahead for more information.

Picnicking: Picnicking at this park is very popular, so you may want to call ahead to make a reservation.

How to get there: According to the park: "From San Francisco, take the Bay Bridge to I-580 east and I-980 (downtown Oakland). Exit I-980 at 11th/12th Streets, go through several traffic lights and make a left onto 5th Street. This will take you to Broadway and the Oakland/Alameda Tube. Once through the Tube, you'll be on Webster Street. Webster will dead end at Central Avenue. Turn left onto Central and right onto Eighth Street to reach the Crown Beach entrance. Turn right on Central then turn left on McKay Ave to reach the Crab Cove entrance."

Accessibility: Most areas of the park are wheel chair accessible and they offer special beach wheelchairs so that everyone can enjoy the sun and sand.
