About the Lake:
This 815 acre lake is home to many trophy size fished and offers numerous boating opportunities. It was intended to be used as a storage depot for mining debris, and the nearby dam is made entirely of concrete. Camping is only allowed on boat, giving this lake a unique flair among boaters. The lake is nine miles long and features 24 miles of shoreline. There is a fee for camping, but it is nominal. Although this is a popular lake, overcrowding has not been an issue.
There are quite a few restrictions that visitors should be aware of. Please see our section on these restrictions as well as our special notes section for more information. It is best to call ahead to lake management to check on water levels and any other rules that you should be aware of before you arrive at the lake.

Boating Restrictions:
There are a few restrictions that visitors must follow while boating. First, in boat camping is allowed, but boats must be moored. You may not moor your vessel unless you are camping. All boats are asked to travel in a counter clockwise motion around the lake. Please watch for submerged obstacles in this lake as they can be quite common.
Fishing
What kind of fish can be found at the lake? Record setting trout can be found here as well as huge bass and catfish.
Are there any regulations on fishing? Yes, according to lake management:
Trout: Open season all year. Limit: five trout
Bass: Open season all year. Limit: five bass. Minimum length: 12 in.
Catfish: Open season all year. Limit: no limit
Special Notes: Please note that there are several camping regulations at this lake. In boat camping is allowed. If you do camp on shore, please use the designated fire receptacles if you do have a fire. Animals must be either leashed or caged at all times. Please note that the water levels on the lake do fluctuate quite a bit. Please call ahead for more information before you get to the lake.
