Boating is definitely allowed in Green Valley Lake. Boating is one of the more popular activities that the lake allows.

Is there a boat ramp?

There are a couple of different ways to get on the lake depending on where you are coming from. There is a launch ramp on the southern side of the lake near Highway 18.

Is camping allowed?

Not only is camping allowed on Green Valley Lake, but it is also one of the more popular activities that the lake is known for. There are numerous different camping sites to choose from depending on where on the lake you are staying. There is also a cabin that you can stay in if the rustic camping scene is not your thing.

What You Need to Know

Green Valley Lake prides itself on the ability to provide an abundance of different activities including music jams, artisan tours, restaurants, cabin rentals, winter sports, hiking, rock climbing, camping, fishing, boating and more. While Green Valley Lake may be tucked away in a largely unknown part of San Bernardino County, this sleepy little town sure is busy. There are some restrictions on fishing and boating here, because the town is small and the lake is not heavily stocked with fish, but everyone appears to get along and the locals are friendly.

Is fishing allowed?

Fishing is allowed, but there are some specific restrictions that need to be followed. First of all, you must possess a California fishing license in order to fish here. The fees are generally $15 per person, and a fishing license in California will run you around $38-40 depending on the season. While the lake is regularly restocked with fish, they do not seem to bite often. If you are fishing for the fun of the experience, this is a good place to be. If you are looking for a big haul, then the Green Valley Lake really isn't the fishing experience for you.

What kind of fish will I find there?

The most common fish that you will find in Green Valley Lake are trout, bass, crappie and catfish. These fish tend to stick to the edges of the lake, hanging out in the shallower ends rather than in the deeper center of the lake.

Are there any restrictions I should know about?

Fishing in California requires a fishing license, which will set you back a few bucks. Additionally, the Green Valley Lake relies heavily on restocking their fish, and for that reason there is a quota in place. Depending on the season, the fish quota is usually two catches per person.
