Even though you can’t bring a powered boat here, that doesn’t make Highland Springs Reservoir any less fun. In fact, it’s quite enjoyable thanks to the fact that there just isn’t much noise. If you’re looking for a very quiet weekend getaway, this is the perfect place to go.

We were surprised by the sheer quantity of the fish here and how easy it was to catch one. We’ve included more information about that below, but it is safe to say, if you like to fish and you don’t like going home empty handed, this is definitely the place to go.

We found that the campsites were very well maintained and there were plenty of things to see and do for the whole family. There is a horseshoe pitching pit, as well as a great wilderness area. Overall, this is a beautiful area and it is inspiring to visit here. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful vacation and the chance to literally get a boatload of fish.

The climate is pretty temperate here, although some summer days can get over ninety degrees. The nights are still cool however, so you may want to bring a sweatshirt or light jacket.
