Lake Amador is located in: Ione, CA
Phone: (209) 274-4739

About the Lake:
With 14 miles of shoreline and approximately 425 surface acres, Lake Amador offers boaters a terrific opportunity for some peace and quiet as well as terrific fishing opportunities. Jet skis and water skiing are not allowed on the lake which makes for a much quieter excursion. The fish are particularly healthy and robust on this lake and it's not unusual to find them in excess of ten pounds.
This was one of the first lakes in California to undergo a special program where Florida largemouth bass were brought in. The fish were first put into the lake during the 1960's and have been thriving ever since. Although the lake is small by comparison to many area lakes, it is a favorite among many boaters who enjoy the quiet atmosphere and the quality of the fish.
Another interesting fact about this little lake is that it is by far the place where the largest fish are caught in all of Northern California.
