About the Lake:
Lake McSwain is a particularly fun lake if you like brook trout. This is the only species of fish found in the lake and you can find several large fish here. The lake management stocks the lake every year so there are plenty of opportunities for those who enjoy great sport.
The shoreline is eleven miles long and the lake operates as a sort of fishery for Lake McClure which is located right next to this lake. The cold water coming in from Lake McClure makes for optimum trout conditions. Although temperatures can get quite high in the summer, there is almost no rain fall making it pleasant to fish here all through the summer months.
Lake McSwain is considered one of the best places to catch trout in all of California.
