About the Lake:
McClure Lake holds more than 1 million acre feet of storage water and is situated on the Merced River. With 80 miles and shoreline and 7100 surface acres, it is definitely a boater's paradise. The fish are simply incredible and the lake management is now stocking the lake with trophy-sized bass. Numerous camp sites are available and the lake is very family friendly.

Boating Restrictions:
There are a few restrictions. All boats are asked to travel counter-clockwise and observe all posted speed limits. At night, the speed limit is 10 mph. Please be aware of swimmers in some areas of the lake. Please note that in boat camping is not allowed on this lake.
Fishing
What kind of fish can be found at the lake? Numerous different kinds of fish can be found on the lake, but the trout are particularly good. You'll also find bass, catfish and bluegill.
Are there any regulations on fishing? Yes, according to lake management:
Trout: Open season all year. Limit: five
Bass: Open season all year. Limit: five bass. Slot Limit: none between 12 and 15 inches
Crappie: Open season all year. Limit: twenty-five
Catfish: Open season all year. Limit: no limit
Bluegill: Open season all year. Limit: no limit
Special Notes:
In order to gain entrance to the lake, whether you are boating or camping, you must get a special permit. You can obtain one by calling the number listed above. There are some limitations on camping, such as you cannot stay at the lake for more than 14 days, unless first getting permission with another special permit.
The lake does have a "quiet time" between the hours of 11pm and 7am, so please make sure to observe these rules. In addition, fireworks of any kind are not allowed on the lake and visitors are asked to limit their guests to less than eight.
