Captain Atkinson started as a deckhand on the New Ray Ann when he was 18 years old. At that time, the boat was owned and operated by Ray Biaginni, and Ann was his wife. John knew a good thing when he saw it, and has worked on the boat ever since. He started as skipper in 1981, and he has owned and operated the New Ray Ann since 1989. The New Ray Ann is one of the boats in the fleet that you'll find out fishing nearly every day. John has many friends in the commercial industry, and always seems to know where the fish are.
