You should be looking for the East Beach entrance, which will be on the right. From Marin, on the other hand, you can drive south to cross the Golden Gate Bridge, taking the Lombard Street entrance to reach the presidio. Turn right to reach Lincoln, then turn right again when you reach Halleck. Continue straight on until you reach Mason, turning right and continuing on until you reach the East Beach entrance, which will be on the left side.
