- Exposure: The exposure on this trail is full sun with very few opportunities for shade.
- Traffic: The traffic on this trail is generally moderate to heavy depending on the season.
- Trail Surface: The trail surfaces here are all comprised of dirt trails.
- Walk Time: The average walk time for this particular trail is an hour and a half or less.
- Season: This trailhead is nice all year round and during any season.
- Trailhead Coordinates: This trailhead can be found at 37°29'52.93"N Latitude and 122°13'55.84"W Longitude.
Amenities: If you are looking for a payphone, gas, restaurants or stores, go back to Whipple from the trailhead and you should find plenty of amenities. Most of the amenities are close enough that you can walk to them if you like, through driving may be more ideal.
Rules: This particular trailhead is open from sunrise until sunset. Dogs are permitted on the trials but they are prohibited from straying away from the trails or entering into the vegetation or the water at any point. Equestrians and bicycles are also allowed on these multi use trails, but know that the trails are primarily used by joggers and walkers.
Fees: There are no parking or entrance fees at this trailhead.
Map: A good map for getting to this region is the AAA San Francisco Bay Region map.
Accommodations: There is room for approximately 15 vehicles in a rutted and unimproved dirt lot here. There are no facilities to take advantage of here. There is a map that you can look at on the information signboard. Unfortunately, there are no handicapped parking places here, and the trails are not ideal for wheelchair access.
Public Transportation: There is no public transportation available at or near this trailhead.
How to Get There: From the US 101 located in San Mateo County you are going to want to take the Whipple Road exit. Now drive eastbound while on Whipple. When the road begins to curve sharply to the right you are going to want to carefully pull away from the road where you find a small dirt parking lot. This is located just beyond the northbound entrance and exit ramps for the 101.
