Amenities: You can find gas, restaurants and stores within one mile away from the trailhead to the north. There is no camping provided in or around the trailhead.
Rules: Almaden Lake Park is open from 8 o'clock am until a half hour following sunset. The Los Alamitos Creek Trail is treated as a multi use trail. Dogs are definitely permitted, but only when they are on leash. Dogs are not permitted at all on the western part of the park, however.
Accommodations: There are two different unconnected parking lots here that offer plenty of parking for you. The west lot is only accessible by way of the expressway and is not open to dogs. You will be able to find restrooms, pay phone and drinking water when you reach the trailhead. Generally there are not any maps available at the trailhead however there are plenty of interpretive signs all along the way that are going to highlight your route.
Fees: There are no parking fees or entrance fees for this trailhead for most of the year. During the summer months, there is a $6 dollar parking fee.

Public Transportation: This trail is definitely accessible by way of public transportation with several different buses reaching up to this trailhead. You can visit the area transit information website to obtain more details.
How to Get There: From the Interstate 280 located in Santa Clara County, you are going to want to take CA 85 southbound in the direction of Gilroy. After traveling approximately 12 miles, you should exit at the Almaden Expressway, turning right onto the expressway after exiting. You should drive for approximately 1 mile before making a u-turn upon reaching Winfield. Drive for approximately 0.3 miles until you reach the entrance for Almaden Lake Park which is on the right.
