Russian Steel

by Shanan Rosenberg

6:30am, 42 degrees, Swinging a pink-crystal bugger through frog water somewhere near Healdsburg on the Russian River.

This 14lbs Buck may look less it's weight in the hands of the 6-8 280lbs. angler, but rest assured it thrashed every bit of that mass through the Russian's placid waters and neighbors woke to the sweet sound of a screaming reel.
