Summary: This is a 3.2 mile long partial loop hike that takes you on paved trails around an area that is particularly popular among dog walkers.

Location: This hike is located at the Point Isabel Regional Shoreline, which is located in Contra Costa County.

Distance: The entire distance for this particular walk is 3.2 miles out and back in a partial loop.

Category and Difficulty: The category for this trail is fairy easy as no trails climb higher than 25 feet in elevation from the elevation of the trailhead.

Exposure: This trail is fully exposed with little or no pockets of shade available.

Traffic: The traffic on this trail is generally moderate to heavy, especially when it comes to dog walkers, which make heavy use of this area, especially during the day.

Trail Surface: The trail surfaces here are paved trails similar to sidewalks.

Walk Time: The average walking time for this particular trail is only one hour or less.

Season: This trailhead is nice during any season and all throughout the year.

Trailhead Coordinates: This trailhead can be found at 37°54'10.72"N Latitude and 122°19'12.05"W Longitude.

Amenities: You will not find any amenities in the nearby area. If you need gas, pay phones, stores or restaurants then you are going to need to head to El Cerrito or Richmond nearby to get those services.

Rules: No bicycles are allowed on the main trail which is located at Point Isabel. Bikes are permitted on the Bay Trail which is adjacent. Equestrians are permitted on these trails though it is highly unlikely that any will be present. Dogs are also welcome on these multi use trails, though leashes are required at the Bay Trail area. The park opens at 5 o'clock am and closes at 10 o'clock pm.

Fees: There is no parking or entrance fees at this trailhead.

Map: A good map for getting to this region is the AAA San Francisco Bay Region map.

Accommodations: There is plenty of parking in two different lots and additional street parking can be found nearby. There are designated spots for handicapped people and portable toilets that are accessible by wheelchair as well. The trails are not technically all access but they are unobstructed and both friendly to wheelchairs and strollers. There are maps and drinking water available at the signboard when you first come in.

Public Transportation: The AC Transit bus no. 43 does service this park.

How to Get There: From the Interstate 580, which is located in Contra Costa County, you are going to want to take the Central Avenue exit, which is exit no. 12, and then drive west for a block and take a right turn upon reaching Rydin Road. Now you are going to want to drive to the end of the road which is where you are going to find the parking lot for this trailhead.
