From the Bay Area

Take Interstate 680 to 580. Bear toward Stockton. 580 turns into 205 and then turns into 5. Off 5 take Lathrop Road. Stay on this until you cross over 99. Then make a left and go onto 99. Go 11 miles and take Hwy. 88 East, Waterloo Road. Stay on Waterloo until you go through the town of Lockeford, and then to Clements (you are on Hwy. 88 / 12 now), it is approximately 17 miles to Clements. From Hwy. 88 a mile out of Clements, Hwy. 88 turns left and Hwy. 12 goes straight ahead. Don't follow the signs. Turn left with Hwy. 88 at the yellow blinker light.

Go about 11 miles on 88, you will cross over two white bridges quite close together. After a short distance Jackson Valley Road intersects on your right. Turn right, go approximately 3.4 miles to the four-way stop sign at Buena Vista and turn right. Go over Jackson Creek bridge and continue until you come to a wishing well without a roof, in the middle of an intersection; approximately 3.1 miles from Buena Vista; this is Stony Creek Road; turn left. Come up the hill about a mile, stay to your left at the top of the hill and turn into the Recreation Area on your right.

What You Need to Know:

Please keep in mind that although there is a pump out station, only tenants may use it. Guests will need to make other arrangements with nearby marinas if they require a pump out service.

While there is no grocery store at the marina, there are several within easy walking distance. The laundry facilities here are actually quite nice and well maintained. Visitors appreciate the quality of the establishment and the friendliness of the staff. Showers are also available on site and can be used by both guests and patrons. The boat launch that is available may only be used by tenants, but the city of Stockton does offer a nearby public launching ramp that is quite large and capable of handling most vessels.

This is a very family friendly marina and it is a great place to stop by if you are in the area and want to come ashore for a bit. Both restaurants at the marina are top notch and favorites among the locals. If you're in the area, it's well worth the time to stop by and grab some lunch or dinner.

Directions By Land:

Village West Marina is conveniently located and easy to find. Take I-5 to Northern Stockton and exit on Benjamin Holt Drive. Turn west onto Benjamin Holt Drive and follow approximately 1-1/2 miles, until you see the large sign at the entrance to Village West Marina on your right.

Directions By Water:

Turn north off the Stockton Shipping Channel past buoy number 31. At the major intersection, veer right following Fourteenmile Slough. Village West Marina is at the end of approximately one mile straight southerly stretch of Fourteenmile Slough.

Yes, the marina does allow camping in their RV park. Please call ahead for reservations. The marina states, "Each site has water and electricity (30 or 50 Amp service). Holding tanks may be serviced at our convenient dump station. Showers, laundry and ice are centrally located. Nightly rates are $34 to $45. Significantly lower rates begin on the third night. A 10% discount is available to Good Sam members. Stays are permitted for up to three weeks at special rates."

What you need to know:

The marina just underwent a massive restoration project. The facilities here are truly top notch and the staff is very helpful. They now have services for houseboats and the option of selection covered or open storage berths. Guests always feel welcome here and their rates are quite low when compared with other marinas in the area.

The boat ramp is well worth the trip. If you are not docking there is a $16 fee for the day's use of the ramp. It is enormous and quite capable of handling truly large vessels.

Services:

This is a very nice marina that offers well kept restrooms, shower facilities and laundry facilities. Although there is no restaurant on site, there are several within easy walking distance and you will also find numerous stores and grocery stores nearby. A small bait and tackle shop is located on site and offers a wide range of products. In addition, the harbor also has an RV area with full hookups. Haulouts can be arranged as well as boat storage.

Is there a boat ramp?

Yes, you can use the boat ramp here.

What You Need to Know:

This is one of the few marinas that encourages liveaboards and has more than 60 slips dedicated for this purpose. Currently there is no wait list but this may not last long. If you're interested we recommend contacting harbor management right away.

There are quite a few incidental fees, and we recommend contacting the harbor management to see the current rates. For example, if you plan to keep a dog with you there is a $5 monthly fee, and there are also fees for parking and a facility use fee that is charged on a yearly basis. The current amount for this fee is $125 per year.

A $36 amenity fee is also necessary if you will be renting a berth or slip here. There are also launching fees that average about $18 a day. If you plan on using this facility a lot, we recommend the yearly pass that is available for $150.

Although liveaboards are allowed, there is an additional fee on top of what you will be spending for the berth. There is a onetime $250 inspection fee for boats made after 1998, and then there is a $100 monthly fee, per person.
