Here is a unique secret about San Francisco: Even the locals are often unaware of all of the gems that this fair city has to offer to its visitors. Here are some of the unique things that you might like to see and get to know while you are visiting San Francisco:
The San Francisco Aquatic Park is going to provide you with gorgeous open lawns, plenty of seating, a sandy shoreline and some truly wonderful and fantastic views of the area, making the aquatic park a really ideal place to stop if you have weary feet and need a rest. There is a lagoon here that attracts swimmers, but the Aquatic Park is most commonly used by people looking for the perfect picnicking space.
Fort Mason can be found above the Aquatic Park in San Francisco and it provides a truly serene setting without sacrificing the stunning views of the entire city. There are places here where you can stop to find out more information about the area. You will also find piers for fishing, lawns for relaxing and plenty of areas to sit down for a picnic in this area. Overlooking the bay you will find a unique hostel known as the San Francisco International Hostel, which provides dormitory accommodations to travelers in Army barracks from the Civil War era.
Crissy Field is an excellent place if you are looking for somewhere to walk along the bay and simply enjoy everything that San Francisco has to offer you. The Golden Gate has a promenade that is paved all along its length, and this is a great walk if you simply want to take in the sights, the sounds, the scents, and everything else that fair San Francisco has to offer to you. This also happens to be an excellent place for you to stop if you enjoy fishing or bird watching. This stretch of shoreline is quiet and does not have that many developed facilities. In other words, this is an excellent place to stop if you are looking for a quick retreat away from the city. If you are interested in bird watching or fishing then it is only an even better place for you to stop.
You can eat lunch at one of the picnic tables, enjoy the serenity and quiet for a while, and then move on to new adventures in beautiful San Francisco. With so many unique sites to visit, and so many attractions to take in, there really is something for everyone when it comes to San Francisco. Whether you are a tourist or a local, there is plenty to take in here, including the nature, the sights and sounds, the history, the art and the attraction. Don't miss a beat, there is plenty left for you to experience in gorgeous San Francisco.
